Baby Bumbles is truly a home from home where our youngest members are treasured and cared for. The room is bright and inviting with a myriad of stimulating toys and resources. The wonderful displays reflect some of the amazing craft that our babies create!
We have a homely cot room designed to mirror a child's own bedroom. Each child is allocated their own bedding which is changed daily unless soiled in which case it is immediately replaced.
We ask parents to provide nappies, cream, wipes, milk and bottles for their babies. Bottles are kept in the fridge until needed, when the staff will heat and administer the milk in accordance with parental instructions.
When being weaned the nursery provides food starting with baby rice and leading up to a 2 course lunch from our delicious and popular menu. The food is appropriately blended or reduced in size.
The day is planned in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which places the emphasis on child initiated learning. Our philosophy centres around the individual child and their day is planned in accordance with their individual stage of development as it would be at home. Each child is allocated a key worker who works closely with parents and the child to ensure the child's needs are met.
Our babies have daily access to the outdoor environment, weather permitting, and the nursery provides pushchairs for walks.
We believe that strong communication between parents and staff is essential to the child’s development.
A development book is built up througout the year which records the individual child's progress and shows photographs of their learning. This book is given to parents at the end of each year and makes a wonderful keepsake for years to come!
In addition to the daily contact between parents and staff reports on individual children are sent out in December and July and a parents' meeting is held at the end of March.
Daily record cards are also produced for each child in the Baby Bumbles group. These cards record details such as what food they have eaten and what they have done during the day so parents can keep track and share their day.
